A Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) is currently being developed for approximately 130,000 acres in California's Santa Monica Mountains. General information on CWPPs can be found at the California Fire Alliance and the Society for American Foresters websites.
A series of public meetings will be held to help identify community priorities for wildfire prevention and protection, from October 20 - November 10, 2009. Additional meetings will be held in January 2010. See below for a listing of meeting dates and locations. Click here for the Fall 2009 Meetings Media Release.
A public draft of the CWPP is expected to be released for review in April 2010, with a final CWPP expected by mid summer.
